EEE Assessment & Evaluation
The assessment structure for the BE in Electrical & Electronics Communication Engineering (EEE) follows a well-defined evaluation process, ensuring students develop a strong foundation in both theoretical concepts and practical applications. It consists of Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) and Semester End Examination (SEE). This structured evaluation system ensures students acquire in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical expertise, making them well-prepared for careers in industry, research, and innovation. The CIE and SEE follows all the norms as per Scheme.
The CIE component (50 marks) includes two internal tests for theory subjects, of which the average of two are considered (scaled to 30 marks), along with Course Related Activities (20 marks). For laboratory subjects, CIE (50 marks) consists of Continuous assessment (20 marks), lab tests (30 marks). The CIE Question paper are well scrutinized as per the central scrutiny Committee. Additionally, mini-projects in the third year (50 marks) and final year major projects are evaluated internally through periodic reviews and presentations.
The SEE component (50 marks) includes a theory examination conducted by the institution as per VTU Norms, Consisting of a 100 Marks (scaled down to 50), with a duration of three hours. The exam pattern includes short-answer and long-answer questions covering the entire syllabus. Laboratory exams are evaluated by both internal and external examiners. Final-year projects are assessed through CIE (40 marks) based on periodic evaluations, documentation, and presentations, while SEE (60 marks) includes evaluation by an external examiner through viva-voce and demonstration.
Furthermore, internships and industrial training are mandatory for final-year students, assessed through report submission, presentations, and viva, with credits assigned as per institution guidelines. A comprehensive viva-voce is also conducted in the final year, covering major subjects studied during the program. The institution follows a 10-point CGPA grading system, and to pass a subject, a student must secure a minimum of 35% in SEE and 40% overall (CIE + SEE).
