Innovation Lab & Center of Excellence for Semiconductors

Cambridge Institute of Technology proudly marked another major milestone with the inauguration of the Semiconductor Systems Research & Innovation Lab and the Center of Excellence for Semiconductors, graciously inaugurated by the Hon’ble Minister for RDPR, IT & BT, Government of Karnataka, Shri Priyank Kharge, reaffirming CIT’s commitment to advanced research, innovation-driven education, and strong industry collaboration. This landmark initiative reflects the institution’s strategic vision to prepare students for the rapidly growing semiconductor ecosystem while contributing to India’s ambition of becoming a global hub for chip design and manufacturing. The inauguration ceremony was held in the esteemed presence of academic leaders, industry experts, faculty members, researchers, and students, creating a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange and technological inspiration. The newly established facilities are equipped with modern tools and resources designed to support learning, experimentation, and research in areas such as VLSI design, embedded systems, semiconductor fundamentals, system-level integration, and advanced electronics.

The Semiconductor Systems Research & Innovation Lab aims to foster hands-on learning, encourage interdisciplinary projects, and promote innovation by providing students with real-world exposure to semiconductor technologies and practical applications.
