- Inauguration of Cambrian Incubation Center (CIC)
The Cambrian Incubation Center (CIC),recognized as a Host Institute (HI) under the MSME Innovative scheme, Govt. of India, was officially inaugurated at Cambridge Institute of Technology (CIT), Bengaluru, marking a significant milestone in fostering innovation-driven entrepreneurship. The event brought together MSMEs, industry leaders, academic experts, and researchers to celebrate the launch of a dynamic hub dedicated to technological advancements, business incubation, and impactful collaborations.


The inauguration featured insightful sessions by distinguished speakers from IISc, DESE, and MSME-CoE, emphasizing the importance of bridging the gap between academia and industry. CIC aims to support MSMEs, startups, students, and faculty by providing access to mentorship, funding opportunities, cutting-edge research, and prototyping facilities. The center is designed to drive problem-solving, innovation, and business growth, helping enterprises scale and sustain their ventures in a competitive market.
With a strong foundation in collaborative research, skill development, and industry partnerships, CIC is set to become a key player in shaping the future of entrepreneurship and technological progress. The launch event concluded with networking opportunities, reinforcing CIC’s commitment to fostering a thriving innovation ecosystem that benefits businesses, academia, and society at large.

Providing a platform for students to participate and present their innovative ideas with the aim of “encouraging innovation for global market” is a unique approach that can inspire young engineers to think globally. Involvement of eminent scientists, academicians and industry leaders across the globe as jury members and mentors has elevated the standards of innovation design contest.

Providing a platform for students to participate and present their innovative ideas with the aim of “encouraging innovation for global market” is a unique approach that can inspire young engineers to think globally. Involvement of eminent scientists, academicians and industry leaders across the globe as jury members and mentors has elevated the standards of innovation design contest.


SMART INDIA HACKATHON (SIH 2022)
The Cambridge Institute of Technology was chosen as the nodal centre to facilitate the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2022 software edition at the national level. A nationwide initiative by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell provided students a platform to solve pressing problems of the government, Industries and other organisations. The programme was centrally inaugurated by the Ministry of Education at ‘9am on August 25 and ended on August 26. Over 30 teams and 200 participants worked to solve seven problems put by the DRDO. Cash prizes for solving problems ranged from Rs.50000 to Rs.100000.
