NSS

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a prestigious public service program that seeks to engage students in volunteer work to develop their character and leadership abilities. This program, which is connected to the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, has played a crucial role in advancing social welfare and environmental preservation. The CIT-NSS unit is committed to community involvement and social welfare and has a committed group of student volunteers. The program’s main goal is to actively support initiatives aimed at nation-building.

As the NSS Program Coordinator, I would like to highlight the dedication of our Cambridge Institute of Technology (CIT) student group to the development of our country. Our committed volunteers actively participate in activities that advance the growth of our society through the National Service Scheme (NSS). We are dedicated to cultivate a sense of responsibility, supporting sustainable lifestyles, and encouraging health and hygiene awareness. I am pleased to share with you the remarkable contributions of our committed student group at Cambridge Institute of Technology (CIT) towards nation-building through the National Service Scheme (NSS). Core Objectives of the National Service Scheme

The CIT-NSS program’s community service and personal development initiatives are built around a number of key goals.

Skill development

NSS offers volunteers priceless chances to gain important abilities like project management and problem-solving. These abilities are essential for both future career prospects and personal development

Protection of the Environment and Sustainability

NSS is firmly committed to promote sustainable development principles and increasing public awareness of environmental issues. Campaigns to promote cleanliness protect the environment, and plant trees are examples of initiatives.

Awareness of Health and Hygiene

According to NSS, the purpose of campaigns like the Covid-19 Vaccination Drive, Blood Donation Camps, and Health Camps is to inform the community and volunteers about the value of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Participation in Nation-Building

Volunteers are urged by NSS to actively participate in activities that strengthen the country. The goal of programs like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, digital literacy campaigns, and skill development programs is to advance the country.

Achievements and Impact of the National Service Scheme at CIT

Over the past 3 years, 350 NSS student volunteers from Cambridge Institute of Technology have successfully coordinated more than 25–30 events under the NSS brand. The lives of the people and communities they have had the honor to serve have been significantly improved by their combined efforts.

A start up ecosystem is established at the Institute for students and faculty with mentoring, training and infrastructure support to inculcate the start up culture among the young minds. Students have ample opportunities to participate in sports and extra curricular activities. Technical competencies through various clubs at the Departments.
