Five-Day Drone Technology Bootcamp in Association with IIT Goa

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Cambridge Institute of Technology (CIT), Bengaluru, successfully organized a Five-Day Drone Technology Bootcamp in association with IIT Goa from 18th to 22nd May 2026. The programme aimed to provide students with practical exposure to drone technology, flight mechanics, and emerging applications in the field of unmanned aerial systems.

The bootcamp was inaugurated in the presence of Dr. Shitala Prasad, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Goa, along with Dr. B. V. Ravishankar, Director/Principal, CIT, Dr. G. Indumathi, Associate Director, Dr. Nagesh K. N., Vice Principal and Head of the Department of ECE, Dr. Shiva Panchakshari, and other distinguished experts from IIT Goa.

During the inaugural session, Dr. Shitala Prasad highlighted the objectives of the bootcamp, emphasizing the growing importance of drone technology across industries and the career opportunities available in this rapidly evolving domain. The technical sessions began with an insightful lecture on the fundamentals of flight and aerodynamics, followed by a live demonstration on drone components, assembly, and operation conducted by Mr. Vipin Gautam and the CIT Drone Team.

The bootcamp witnessed enthusiastic participation from approximately 130 students, including nearly 50 participants from various colleges, making it an excellent platform for collaborative learning and knowledge sharing. Students actively engaged in the technical sessions, practical demonstrations, and interactive discussions, gaining valuable hands-on experience and industry-oriented knowledge.

The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. Ajay Kumar Dwivedi and Dr. Vivek Singh, Associate Professors, Department of ECE, with the dedicated support of faculty members, students, and non-teaching staff, ensuring the smooth execution of all activities throughout the five-day bootcamp.
