Inauguration of Metal 3D Printing Facility at Galactic 3D

Cambridge Institute of Technology had the distinct honor of hosting Dr. V. Narayanan, Chairman of ISRO and Secretary, Department of Space, for the inauguration of the state-of-the-art Metal 3D Printing Facility at Galactic 3D, marking a significant milestone in advancing additive manufacturing and aerospace-focused innovation. The prestigious event was further graced by eminent delegates including Dr. Arumugam, Deputy Director, LPSC, ISRO; Dr. P. G. Diwakar, ISRO Chair Professor, NIAS; and Dr. Sanjay Barad, Scientist ‘G’, GTRE, DRDO, creating a powerful convergence of academic excellence and national research leadership.

The inauguration highlighted Cambridge Institute of Technology’s commitment to integrating advanced manufacturing technologies into its academic and research ecosystem. The newly launched metal 3D printing facility provides students and researchers with hands-on exposure to cutting-edge fabrication techniques, enabling rapid prototyping, lightweight structural design, and high-precision component development for aerospace, defense, automotive, and industrial applications.
