SEEDBRAINS 5.0 – Innovation Awards 2026 was successfully organized by the Centre for Innovation and Collaboration (CIC) and the Centre for Holistic Skill and Startup Development (CHOSS), Cambridge Institute of Technology, as a premier inter-collegiate innovation and startup pitching platform. The event brought together talented student innovators from various institutions, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their creative ideas, entrepreneurial ventures, and technology-driven solutions aimed at addressing real-world challenges aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The platform encouraged participants to think beyond conventional approaches and develop sustainable solutions capable of creating meaningful social and economic impact.

The institution was privileged to host eminent dignitaries whose presence and encouragement greatly inspired the participants. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Shri. Devaraj K, IEDS, Director, MSME-DFO Bengaluru, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, and Shri. Shivakumar A, IEDS, Assistant Director, Gr.-I, MSME-DFO Bengaluru, who attended as the Guest of Honour. Their valuable insights on innovation, entrepreneurship, and the evolving startup ecosystem motivated students to pursue their ideas with confidence and determination. The institution also expresses its sincere appreciation to Shri. D.K. Mohan, Chairman, Mr. Nithin Mohan, CEO, Dr. B. V. Ravishankar, Director/Principal, Dr. Indumathi G., Associate Director, and Dr. Varalatchoumy M., Head – CIC & CHOSS, for their continuous support, guidance, and commitment towards fostering innovation and entrepreneurial excellence among students.

A significant highlight of the event was the evaluation and mentoring provided by an esteemed panel of jury members comprising accomplished professionals from academia and industry. The institution extends its gratitude to Ms. Shiji Sunil, CEO, Unicorn Pictures; Dr. Binoj S. S., Business Analyst, Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd.; Mr. Karthikeyan K. V., Senior Manager, Capgemini; Mr. Pranav Durai, Senior Full Stack Developer, Eigital Private Limited, USA; Mr. Kiran M., Senior Full Stack Developer, Eigital Private Limited, USA; and Mr. Basavaraj P., Director (Engineering & Technology), SkyBlaze Technologies, Bengaluru. Their expert evaluation, constructive feedback, and valuable industry perspectives played an important role in assessing the innovation, feasibility, scalability, and societal relevance of the participating projects.

The success of SEEDBRAINS 5.0 was made possible through the collective efforts of the faculty coordinators, organizing committee members, and dedicated student volunteers. Their meticulous planning, coordination, and commitment ensured the smooth execution of every aspect of the event, creating an enriching and professional experience for participants, guests, and attendees alike.

Following a highly competitive pitching and evaluation process, the winning teams were recognized for their exceptional innovation and entrepreneurial potential. The First Prize of ₹50,000 was awarded to Team SB26034 from Cambridge Institute of Technology. The Second Prize of ₹30,000 was secured by Team SB26005 from Vishnu Institute of Technology, while the Third Prize of ₹20,000 was awarded to Team SB26021 from Cambridge Institute of Technology. The innovative ideas presented by these teams demonstrated remarkable creativity, technical excellence, and potential for real-world implementation.

The event concluded with a grand Valedictory Function held in the presence of Dr. Indumathi G., Associate Director, Dr. Nagesh K. N., Vice President, and Dr. Varalatchoumy M., Head – CIC & CHOSS. During the ceremony, the winners were formally announced and felicitated for their outstanding achievements. The dignitaries congratulated all participants for their enthusiasm, dedication, and innovative spirit, emphasizing the importance of nurturing entrepreneurial thinking and innovation-driven problem solving among students.

SEEDBRAINS 5.0 once again reaffirmed Cambridge Institute of Technology’s commitment to promoting innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development. The event provided a valuable platform for young innovators to transform ideas into impactful solutions and encouraged students to contribute meaningfully to society through technology and enterprise. The institution congratulates all participating teams and looks forward to witnessing many of these promising ideas evolve into successful startups and transformative ventures in the years ahead.

Students have ample opportunities to participate in sports and extra curricular activities. Technical competencies through various clubs at the Departments. Our goal is to develop our students as technocrats who can contribute  to the society and build a sustainable eco system.
