How to Get Admission to Cambridge Institute of Technology Through COMEDK

If you want to join our Main Campus at KR Puram through COMEDK, remember one code:

E033

Our North Campus at Kundana is E161.

COMEDK lists our KR Puram campus as E033 and our North Campus separately as E161. These are college codes, not branch codes.

If you searched for Cambridge Institute of Technology COMEDK admission, this guide simplifies the complete journey from UGET to reporting to us.

Updated September 2026: We use the completed 2026 COMEDK engineering counselling cycle as the latest reference. Dates, fees, seat numbers, cutoffs and round rules can change in future admission years.

Quick Answer

For engineering admission through COMEDK at our KR Puram Main Campus:

Write UGET → Get your rank → Register for counselling → Upload documents → Get approved → Select E033 + your branch → Check mock allotment → Get your allotment → Complete payment and reporting

A COMEDK rank does not automatically give you a college seat. Registration, document verification, choice filling and allotment are separate parts of the COMEDK admission process .

E033 vs E161: Which of Our Campuses Are You Choosing?

Details Our Main Campus Our North Campus
Location KR Puram, Bengaluru Kundana, Bengaluru
COMEDK Code E033 E161

The official COMEDK college listing confirms E033 for our KR Puram campus and E161 for our Kundana North Campus .

E033 = Our KR Puram Main Campus
E161 = Our Kundana North Campus

These codes identify the college campus.

Your branch is a separate preference.

For example:

E033 + CSE

E033 + Mechanical Engineering

These are two different choices at the same campus.

Do Not Mix Up These Four Things

  1. COMEDK Score = your exam marks
  2. COMEDK Rank = your position among candidates
  3. College Code = the campus you select
  4. College + Branch Preference = the actual option you enter during counselling

Once this is clear, the rest becomes much easier.

COMEDK to Cambridge: The Admission Journey

UGET → Rank → Counselling registration → Document approval → Choice filling → Mock allotment → Final allotment → Payment → Reporting

Now let's go through what each stage means.

1

Check Your Eligibility and Write UGET

For the 2026 B.E./B.Tech cycle, COMEDK accepted 2nd PUC, Class 12 or an equivalent recognised qualification.

Physics, Mathematics and English were compulsory, with Chemistry or another permitted subject such as Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science or Electronics.

General Merit candidates required at least 45% aggregate, while eligible Karnataka SC, ST and OBC candidates required 40% under COMEDK's 2026 eligibility rules.

If you meet the eligibility rules, you write UGET and receive a COMEDK score and rank.

Important: Getting the rank is only Step 1. You do not select us during the exam itself.

2

Register for Counselling and Upload Documents

After receiving your rank, you must register separately for counselling.

For 2026, COMEDK charged a ₹2,000 non-refundable counselling registration fee . The Document Upload tab became available only after successful payment.

Your documents can include:

  • Government ID
  • Class 10 marks card for date-of-birth proof
  • Class 12/2nd PUC marks card
  • COMEDK TAT
  • Additional category or status documents where applicable

COMEDK specifically warned that mobile photographs, unclear scans or illegible uploads may be rejected .

Our advice: Upload early and open every file once before submitting it.

Choice filling becomes available only after document verification is complete and your status shows Document Approved .

3

Select E033 + the Branch You Want

This is where you actually choose us.

If you want our KR Puram Main Campus, select:

E033 - Cambridge Institute of Technology, K R Puram, Bengaluru

You are not simply selecting “Cambridge”. You are selecting our campus + a branch.

Our own B.E. admissions information lists undergraduate programmes including CSE, AIML, CSE Data Science, CSE IoT & Cyber Security including Blockchain Technology, ECE, EEE, Mechanical and Civil Engineering.

It also confirms COMEDK as one of our B.E. admission routes.

2026 COMEDK Seat Reference for Our Main Campus

The official 2026 COMEDK Round 1 seat matrix listed:

Branch 2026 COMEDK Seats
Computer Science & Engineering 126
Electronics & Communication Engineering 54
Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning 36
CSE - Data Science 18
Civil Engineering 18
Electrical & Electronics Engineering 18
CSE - IoT & Cyber Security including Blockchain 18
Mechanical Engineering 18

The same matrix listed ₹3,02,000 tuition + ₹20,000 other fee = ₹3,22,000 total for these E033 combinations before Round 1.

2026 reference only: Branch availability, seat numbers and fees can change each admission cycle.

4

Check Mock Allotment Before Finalising Your Order

Mock allotment is a practice result, not your final seat.

In the 2026 process, verified candidates could see their mock allotment and then edit, reorder, add or delete choices before the actual allotment.

Use that opportunity to ask:

Is this genuinely the order I prefer?

Do not try to guess the allotment system.

Put your college + branch combinations in your real order of preference.

5

Got an Allotment? Read the Decision Before You Click

The options available after allotment can depend on your counselling round and status.

For example, the 2026 process included decision-making and fee-payment stages, while applicable Accept & Freeze candidates had to report to the allotted college with their allotment letter and fee receipt .

Do not rely on an old video, screenshot or instructions from a previous round.

Read the instructions shown for your current round.

If your allotment requires reporting to us, come to the correct campus with the documents specified in your COMEDK instructions.

Can My COMEDK Rank Get Me Admission With Us?

There is no single Cambridge COMEDK cutoff.

Closing ranks change by:

  • Branch
  • Seat category
  • Counselling round
  • Admission year

COMEDK publishes separate cutoff documents after different counselling rounds .

So instead of asking:

“What is the Cambridge cutoff?”

ask:

“What was the closing rank for my branch, category and counselling round?”

Use the previous closing rank as a reference, not as a guarantee.

6 COMEDK Mistakes We Don't Want You to Make

1. Forgetting Counselling Registration

Getting your rank but forgetting counselling registration. UGET and counselling are separate stages.

2. Selecting the Wrong Campus

Choosing E161 when you meant E033. E033 is our KR Puram Main Campus and E161 is our Kundana North Campus.

3. Selecting the Wrong Branch

Choosing the correct campus but the wrong branch. Read the complete college + branch combination.

4. Uploading Unclear Documents

COMEDK warns that unclear or illegible uploads can be rejected .

5. Ignoring Mock Allotment

It gives you a chance to review and change your preference order .

6. Missing a Deadline

Registration, choice filling, payment and reporting run on fixed schedules.

We cannot choose your preferences for you.

But we can make sure the process is easier to understand before you click anything important.

Using This Guide for the Next Admission Cycle?

This article uses COMEDK 2026 because it is the latest completed engineering counselling cycle available when this guide was updated.

For your admission year, recheck:

  • Eligibility
  • Counselling dates
  • Registration fee
  • Seat matrix
  • Branch availability
  • Fees
  • Cutoff ranks
  • Round-specific rules

The overall journey may remain similar.

The numbers and deadlines may not.

FAQs

Q1. Can I Get Admission to Cambridge Institute of Technology Through COMEDK?

Yes. COMEDK is one of our current undergraduate B.E. admission routes, along with KEA and Management Quota. You can see these routes on our official B.E. admissions page .

You still need to complete COMEDK counselling and select the correct campus + branch combination.

Q2. How Does CIT Bangalore Admission Through COMEDK Work?

For CIT Bangalore admission through COMEDK at our KR Puram Main Campus:

Get your rank → register for counselling → get your documents approved → choose E033 + your preferred branch → complete allotment and reporting.

Q3. What Is Our COMEDK College Code?

Our KR Puram Main Campus is E033 .

Our Kundana North Campus is E161 .

Q4. Does a COMEDK Rank Guarantee Cambridge Institute of Technology Admission?

No.

Your rank is only one part of Cambridge Institute of Technology admission through COMEDK. Actual seat allotment also depends on your preference order, branch, category and available seats during that round.

Q5. Can I Select More Than One Branch With Us?

Yes.

E033 + CSE and E033 + ECE, for example, are separate preferences at our Main Campus.

Q6. Is COMEDK the Same as KCET?

No. They are separate admission and counselling routes.

This guide covers COMEDK. If you are applying through KCET, use current KEA information for that process rather than the COMEDK codes on this page.

Q7. What Should I Compare Besides the COMEDK Cutoff?

If you are comparing the best engineering colleges in Bangalore or top autonomous engineering colleges in Karnataka , do not make your decision from one closing rank.

Compare:

  • The branch you actually want
  • Curriculum
  • Labs and projects
  • Industry exposure
  • Placement evidence
  • Campus
  • Admission route
  • Total fee

At our KR Puram campus, we have been autonomous from the 2023–24 academic year while remaining affiliated to VTU .

A counselling code tells you how to select a college. It does not tell you whether that college and branch are right for you.

Final Check Before You Submit

If you want our KR Puram Main Campus:

E033 → Check the branch → Check your preference order → Check once more

You do not need to memorise the COMEDK rulebook.

You need to understand three things:

What am I selecting? → What happens next? → What is the next deadline?

That is what we want this guide to make simpler.

Source note: This guide is based primarily on the latest available official COMEDK UGET and counselling information and our current Cambridge Institute of Technology B.E. admissions information .
