Dr. B. V. Ravishankar obtained his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Indian Institute of Science (IISc). He got his M.E. and B.E. in Civil Engineering from UVCE, Bangalore University, Bengaluru.

Dr. B. V. Ravishankar is an accomplished educator and academic leader, currently serving as the Principal of Cambridge Institute of Technology, K. R. Puram, Bengaluru. Previously, he was the Principal of Nagarjuna College of Engineering and Technology, Bengaluru. Prior to which, he has served numerous higher academic and administrative capacities i.e. Principal, BMS College of Engineering, BMS Evening College of Engineering, Vice-Principal, Dean and other positions. Dr. Ravishankar has also served as Principal of Cambridge Institute of Technology, Bengaluru from 2010 to 2013 and actively contributed to the institution to scale greater heights and transform into one of the leading competitive institutes in Bengaluru City.

Under his leadership, BMS College of Engineering achieved NAAC A++ with a CGPA of 3.83 (one of the highest in India) and secured NBA Tier-1 accreditation for all PG programs.

Key Achievements under his Leadership at NCET are as follows:

• Secured ₹2+ Crore funding through AICTE IDEA Lab, Drone Lab, ATAL FDPs, VGST, and KSCST projects.

• Contributed to research excellence with 300+ publications and 200+ patents filed.

• Expanded student intake from 702 (2022–23) to 1,132 (2025–26) and introduced new branches in IoT & Cybersecurity, MCA, and BCA.

• Organized flagship cultural events such as Kalarava and VTU Yuvotsava (₹1 Cr budget), along with a variety of campus celebrations.

• Achieved prestigious accreditations including NAAC A+ Grade, NBA for CSE & ECE, recognition in NIRF Innovation Ranking (150–300 band), and an IIC 3-star rating.

• Strengthened the institutional ecosystem by reinforcing IQAC, signing MOUs with industries, promoting internships, establishing NCC, hosting sports meets, framing research policies, engaging alumni, and encouraging NPTEL certifications.

Dr. Ravishankar has more than 37+ years of experience in different facets of Education, Teaching, Research and Administration.

Dr. Ravishankar has guided 2 Ph.D. scholars, 2 M.Sc. (Engg. by Research) scholars, 20+ M.Tech. projects, and 60+ undergraduate projects, while publishing/presenting extensively in national and international journals and conferences. He has also organized and chaired numerous conferences, FDPs, and workshops, and delivered 70+ motivational talks across Karnataka, along with invited lectures on NAAC, NBA, and NEP-2020.

He has served as Chairman of LIC Committee (VTU), Academic Senate Member, and as Governing Council Member for several engineering institutions. He continues to serve as an advisor for 10+ engineering colleges in Karnataka.

Dr. Ravishankar is actively associated with professional bodies including the Indian Geotechnical Society, ISTE, and International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering etc., and has contributed as a BOE Member for UVCE, VTU-Civil Engineering, and DSCE.

His leadership has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including:
