Guiding Philosophy
We believe in nurturing innovations in an inspiring environment to create a futuristic society of entrepreneurs who would make an active contribution in serving humanity and global sustainability through technology and research.
We create globally relevant and one of its kind teaching-learning-practicing environment led by an industry-academic approach towards education and training development. Consecutively, we adopt a research-oriented design thinking approach in development of human capital.
Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India has established ‘MoE’s Innovation Cell (MIC)’ to systematically foster the culture of Innovation amongst all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The primary mandate of MIC is to encourage, inspire and nurture young students by supporting them to work with new ideas and transform them into prototypes while they are informative years.
MIC has envisioned encouraging creation of ‘Institution’s Innovation Council (IICs)’ across selected HEIs. A network of these IICs will be established to promote innovation in the Institution through multitudinous modes leading to an innovation promotion eco-system in the campuses.
Institute Innovation Council (IIC)
Cambridge Institute of Technology established Institute Innovation Council ( IIC ) supported by MHRD and AICTE to encourage students to become employer than employee. Institution Innovation Council started during 2018-19 with Dr. S. Shankar as its President supported by All Heads of Various Departments, IIC coordinators from all departments, Principal and our Management. We at Cambridge are totally committed to update/upgrade our skill and knowledge in line with the stipulations of AICTE/MoE, New Delhi. Our Motto has been reframed as Ideate, Innovate, Design, Develop and Commercialize Lots of activities have been organized in our college, College wise and Department wise on Academic, Co-Academic and Extra Curricular activities in the past and more and more activities are envisaged in the forthcoming days.
We are extremely happy to be conferred upon with a 3 STAR rating for the year 2018-19 and a 5 STAR rating in the year 2019-20 by IIC-MoE, New Delhi.
We have set a high-level benchmark for us to grow and deliver and to emerge as a top 10 Technical Institution of our country within the next 5 years.
Functions of IICs
- To conduct various innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities prescribed by Central MIC in time bound fashion.
- Identify and reward innovations and share success stories.
- Organize periodic workshops/ seminars/ interactions with entrepreneurs, investors, professionals and create a mentor pool for student innovators.
- Network with peers and national entrepreneurship development organizations.
- Create an Institution’s Innovation portal to highlight innovative projects carried out by institution’s faculty and students.
- Organize Hackathons, idea competition, mini-challenges etc. with the involvement of industries.
Entrepreneurship Development Centre
Entrepreneurship Development Centre (EDC) was established at Cambridge Institute of Technology, Bangalore in March 2017.
The Objectives of EDC are
- Promote entrepreneurship culture and mind-set among the students of our college.
- Develop conducive environment encouraging innovation among aspiring entrepreneurs.
- Gain insight into the relationship between innovation, entrepreneurship and globalization.
- Adopt suitable strategies for supporting innovation and entrepreneurship.
Major facilities provided by the Citech to establish startups inside the campus
The Facilities will be provided based on the mutual discussion and mutual consent between the CIT, Bengaluru and startup company.
- Enabling access to physical infrastructure
- Assisting with identification of members for advisory boards and mentors.
- R&D labs, Tinkering labs
- Help with regulatory compliance.
To promote startup culture and encourage students to become entrepreneurs CIT, Bengaluru planned to provide the following facilities free of cost for the first year. There after based on the mutual consent between CIT, Bengaluru and Startup Company the facilities will be extend.

- Startup Space: Based on the need of the startup space will be provided without any limitation
- Library: Startup can utilize available E-Resources and Physical Books in library to gain and share knowledge for the development of products and services.

- Power Backup (Limited to Systems)
- Seminar Halls / Conference Rooms
- Discussion Rooms & tutorial rooms

- Auditorium – State of the art facility to accumulate 1000 participants.
