FIESTA: FIESTA is an engaging forum for innovative engineering science and technological advancement, which enables ISE students to showcase their talents.

ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education): Through ISTE, Dept. of ISE joins the global tribe of passionate educators, leaders and experts who are committed to expanding the horizons of education technology. The Dept. conducts several interactive sessions through this.

International Learning Center: International Learning Center(ILC) is an education platform that partners with top universities and organizations worldwide, to offer courses online for anyone to take.

Technical Club: Embedded Bee Background:

An embedded system is a computer system designed to perform one or few dedicated functions often with real-time computing constraints. Embedded systems are controlled by one or more main processing cores that are typically either microcontrollers or digital signal processors (DSP). Embedded systems are having applications in all walks of life such as television, digital camera, i-phones, washing machine and automotive and so on. FPGA based reconfigurable computing and nanoscale circuit design are the latest trends of this technology. Principal areas/domains of VLSI and embedded system technology are: Materials research for VLSI, circuit simulation for design of modern VLSI circuits, mixed signal VLSI design, asynchronous systems, networking, MEMS and Bio-MEMS, system on chip design and network on chip design.

Activities Under the Club:

The activities of the club have been well formulated to develop interest and competence of the students in the related technologies with emphasis on application aspects of the concepts. The club envisages the microelectronics and embedded system study in following broad activities considering the process of designing, modeling, simulation, circuit fabrication and evaluation.

Technical Club: IoT Bee

Background:

Internet is not only about connecting people, but also connects things. That is the “Internet of Things (IoT)”:  Everything that used to be disconnected, now becomes wired and intelligent. Homes, cars, cities, farms and even our bodies will be wired with sensors and will talk to each other. The definition of the Internet of things has evolved due to the convergence of multiple technologies, real-time analytics, machine learning, commodity sensors, and embedded systems.

       IoT Club is an association of Students and Staff who have passion in Design and Developing products related to the domain of Internet of Things. The goal of the club is to design and develop IoT based Smart Solutions, Systems and Applications for the welfare of the society using Arduino, Raspberry PI , Python , Android , Java , C.

Technical Club: RoboBee

Background: Pushing the State-Of-The-Art

RoboBee teams provide  opportunity for students to strengthen leadership skills, learn to cooperate with others, improve social interaction skills.

Robotics club is a gathering of students who are interested in learning about working with robotics and related technology. At college, robotics clubs typically take place after academic activity.

It is our intention to as a vehicle to promote robotics and AI research, by offering a publicly appealing, but formidable challenge. One of the effective ways to promote science and engineering research is to set a challenging long-term goal. When the accomplishment of such a goal has significant social impact, it is called a grand challenge project. Building a robot that plays soccer will not by itself generate significant social and economic impact, but the accomplishment will certainly be considered a major achievement for the field. We call this kind of project a landmark project.

Technical Club: Signal Processing

Objective and Technical background of the club:

Signal processing is an area, finding application in the field of communication systems, systems engineering, electrical engineering and applied mathematics that deals with operations or analysis of analog as well as digitized signals. Signals of interest can include sound, electromagnetic radiation, images, and sensor readings, for example biological measurements such as electrocardiograms, control system signals, telecommunication transmission signals, and many others. The goals of signal processing can roughly be divided into the following categories

  • Signal acquisition and reconstruction, which involves measuring a physical signal, storing it, and possibly later rebuilding the original signal or an approximation thereof. For digital systems, this typically includes sampling and quantization.
  • Quality improvement, such as noise reduction, image enhancement, and echo cancellation.
  • Signal compression (Source coding), including audio compression, image compression, video compression and signal encryption.
  • Feature extraction, such as image understanding and speech recognition.

The association with this club will create interest of students in this technological domain and inspire their creativity to innovate through practical learning and application oriented mindset. Undoubtedly, this is the aspect mainly seen in the engineering profession and thus definitely boosts the career prospects and employability. With competence in this domain, students could positively look for exciting career in IT and Telecom industries, Instrumentation industries, Premier Research Organizations like: ISRO, DRDO, etc.

“SHANNON TECHNICAL FORUM”

The Department of ECE has organized various competitions under the aegis of Shannon Technical Forum since 2008 with the purpose to bring out the hidden talents in students and to enhance the cultural progress in the department. The slot was fixed on every Tuesday afternoon for this academic year in the time table and students enjoyed the Forum hours by participating in both technical and non-technical events.

“SHANNON TECHNICAL FORUM” was found in the department to facilitate and enhance the technical knowledge of students by encouraging different technical activities like:

IoT Club

This Club represents a community of students who have interest to create technical solutions for socially relevant problems, build new smart home technologies which involve IoT and derive pleasure in creating robots that may even be potent to work without human intervention. All members of this community will work towards providing complete solutions to technical problems under the indispensable guidance of experienced faculty members.

Coding Club

Coding club organizes events and share sessions from Alumni, coders, hackers, mentors.Sessions are taken by experts,coding club mentors, coding club members by inviting external experts.

Event Details

Personality Development session on 16th August 2016

An activity was organized by Master of Computer Applications. Department under the banner of “KRITANSH” held on 16th  August, 2016 for the students of III Semester and V Semester.

The objective of this activity is to improve communication skills, behavioural skills, entrepreneurial skills and to know their personality.

Technical Test on 30th August 2016

A Technical Test in C Programming Language was conducted by Master of Computer Applications Department under the banner of “KRITANSH” held on 30th  August, 2016 for the students of III Semester and V Semester.

The objective of this activity is to improve their technical skills.
