CSEE Student Clubs
The Sustainability Club at Cambridge Institute of Technology aims to foster a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability among students, faculty, and the community. The club will serve as a platform to engage, educate, and empower individuals to take action towards a more sustainable future. This is need of the hour as sustainability initiatives on campus are considered for accreditation in NAAC & Ranking in NIRF.
Objectives
- Promote awareness about Sustainability, UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Climate Change, and Environmental Conservation.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and guest lectures on sustainability and ESG
- Initiate campus-wide sustainability initiatives such as Zero Waste Campus, Enhancing Biodiversity, and Energy & Water Conservation.
- Partner with industries, NGOs, and governmental organizations to drive real-world
- Encourage research and innovation in sustainability, sustainable development & ESG
- Provide students with hands-on experience in ESG reporting, carbon footprint analysis, and sustainability initiatives.
3. Structure & Membership
• Patron: CEO of Cambridge Group of Institutions.
• Faculty Coordinator: A faculty member to mentor and guide the club.
• Student President: Leads and oversees all activities of the club.
• Student Vice President: Assists the president and coordinates events.
• Student Secretary: Manages documentation and communications.
• Event Coordinators: Plan and execute events and campaigns.
• Student Members: Open to all students passionate about sustainability.
• Nodal Office: Center for Sustainability & Executive Education.
4. Activities & Initiatives
- Green Campus Drive: Lead & Support Zero Waste Campus, Waste Segregation, Paper Recycling, and Plastic-Free campus policies.
- Sustainability Hackathon: Organize and encourage innovative solutions for real- world sustainability challenges & partner with Industry where applicable.
- Awareness Campaigns: Organize events on UN Calendar like World Environment Day, Earth Day, and Sustainability Day etc.
- Sustainable Lifestyle Challenge: Promote habits like zero waste, minimalism, and responsible consumption.
- ESG Training & Certification: Provide skill-building sessions for students on sustainability reporting and corporate ESG practices.
- Industry Collaborations: Partner with companies for sustainability focused projects on carbon neutrality, renewable energy, and circular economy models etc.
